Definition of SILVERSMITHING
the art of turning silver wire and sheetmetal into jewelry

In this class, students (membership in MGMS is required)  will learn how to cut, file, sand and prepare silver wire and sheet metal to assemble a pendant, a ring, and a student choice project. Basic soldering techniques,  equipment safety,  and cleaning up will also be covered.  All material needed for class is supplied by MGMS and included in class fee of $100.00 + $ 60.00 for materials.  

All students must complete our Lapidary class prior to Silversmithing. Students are welcome and encouraged to bring and use cabochons made in their Lapidary class for their silversmithing projects.
